Policy 12 -- New Homes – general considerations of size, character and occupancy
Purpose: In order to maintain the character of the village, the street scene, protect neighbouring amenity and support increasing the proportion of homes suitable for permanent residences.
Proposals for new dwellings will be permitted within the Village Development Boundary where they:
- are typically in the size range 80 -150m2 gross internal floor area (to be further considered), comprising of three or fewer bedrooms
- constitute sensitive infilling of small gaps within an otherwise continuously built-up frontage facing the existing road network
- conserve and enhance landscape and scenic beauty and are appropriate to their location in the National Landscape
- are for Principal Residencies and
- are consistent with other policies in Plan
