WALBERSWICK PARISH COUNCIL - ALLOTMENTS

Any enquiries about Allotments should be directed to the clerk via email at: walberswickclerk@gmail.com

Note: Red lines are indicative only and do not denote any offical boundaries. Where plots have 2 letters this indicated a half plot - all others are 1/4 plot

Review of allotment rents

The Council is required by its Financial Regulations to review all fees and charges annually. By law a Council is required to make a charge for allotments “which a tenant can reasonably be expected to pay”. There are no recommended rates of charges. The policy of WPC is, as a minimum, to cover all costs of the Parish Council providing allotments, including but not limited to land rent, administrative costs, and any water costs for which the Parish Council is liable

Allotment rents were last reviewed at the July 2023 WPC meeting and set as follows (note these costs now include the cost of water):

i. 1 plot - £24 per annum
ii. 1⁄2 plot - £17 per annum
iii. 1⁄4 plot - £11 per annum

All rents are collected annually in advance
